About Us
The market was started by Jim Paulus in 1991 when he graduated from high school. Before that, he had sold potatoes out of the garage, with the help of his family. He also sold produce at the town square farmers' market.
Today, Jim farms approximately 600 acres, and is the owner/operator of Paulus Farm Market on South York Street in Mechanicsburg, Pennsylvania, along with co-owner and wife, Amy. They were married in 2001, and now have two sons.
Jim's parents, Creedin and JoAnn Paulus, help around the farm in many ways. Creedin is the
beekeeper and helps in the field work, and JoAnn is in charge of the bakery and often manages the market and greenhouse. The family is also fortunate to have the loyal help of several long time employees.
Amy is the educational tour coordinator and guide. She has a degree in secondary education, as well as experience in preschool teaching. School tours include a nice mix of imagination and hands-on learning, so all the children enjoy their educational visit to the farm. Tours are available spring and fall. Guests may also arrange to rent the greenhouse/Fun Fort area for private parties, birthday celebrations, and other special events.
